Brühl Palaces stand out as a shining cultural beacon in North Rhine-Westphalia. The palaces with their garden and park ensemble are celebrating their 40th anniversary as a UNESCO World Heritage Site this year. Today, the “UNESCO World Heritage Site Augustusburg and Falkenlust Palaces in Brühl” is one of 1,199 sites worldwide, one of 52 sites in Germany and one of 6 sites in North Rhine-Westphalia, making it of the most important objects created by man. The Brühl World Heritage Site comprises three extraordinary architectural and art-historical treasures: the imposing Augustusburg Palace, the intimate Hunting Lodge Falkenlust and the ideal-typical palace garden in the French style.
